Johan listens to Måns, visits Porsche and wishes peace and quiet.

”Last week we had Christmas smorgasbord with Volkswagen in Östermalms saluhall. Colin was back home with his grandmother, so me and Zandra had an evening on our own for the first time since he was born. It was a nice event with good seafood and entertainment from Måns Zelmerlöw, Elin Lanto and Martin Stenmarck.”

The day after you had the media session about the next rallycross season and then you left for Germany and Porsche’s Night of Champions gala.

”Yes, and new for this year was that we also had Day of Champions. We were allowed to visit Porsche Motorsport, one of the world’s most modern facilities where they run the LMP1 project. I was impressed by the wind tunnel, with a propeller run by 7 200 hp, where you can simulate up to 300 km/h and meanwhile measure the downforce down to five grams difference. As the car stood it managed from five grams to 5 000 kilos. Their driving simulator was also awesome. I can tell you that if they win Le Mans it won’t be by coincidence. In the evening was the gala with many awards and speeches. The dinner got a bit extended, so to speak. There were a couple of Swedes at the gala, but I didn’t see Jocke Mangs, but that’s how it has been most of the time during the season, ha-ha.”

During the week, in the world of racing, we were presented with the piece of news that your former team mates, Thed Björk and Fredrik Ekblom will be doing WTCC in the wide world.

”Awesome! It will be really fun to se what they can do in that competition. Fredrik might get something of a new start and it’s great for Thed get this chance now. The conditions seem to be good, Polestar usually goes all in when they do something.”

At home you have some ordinary days.

”We keep doing some cleaning up in the garage. And we are also supposed to build a machine room. For example, we haven’t had a lathe before but from now on there will be more of constructing things. In rallycross you find more of your own solutions than in racing, where you often change whole components when something is broken. ”

And apart from work?

”I have had this cold for some while, but I did some running the other day.”

Santa Claus is soon on his way. What are your wishes?

”Peace and quiet! But my father is heading for Thailand on Christmas eve so there are possibilities for that to happen, ha-ha.”

And so The Daily Life of Johan wishes all our readers a really Merry Christmas. We will be back around the new year, when Johan is ready to hand out his ”This Year’s” awards.
